BMW F80 M3 CS Review. After spending an entire day behind the wheel of this car it is the BEST Modern M3 that you should own. The cars performance and raw nature are so closely resembling the benchmark of this category the Alfa Romeo Guilia QV. Even the Nurburgring lap times are almost identical between both cars and this emphasizes how good the BMW F80 M3 CS is as a performance machine. The BMW F80 M3 was originally introduced in 2014 as the modern predecessor to the infamous E92 M3 V8 and it came with lots of critical complaints especially the S55 engine. The M world complained how the new car was numb, stiff, had overly heavy steering and a rear suspension that could not put the power down safely without trying to send you into a tree. The S55 engine solved the problems of low end torque that the V8 NA S65 suffered but lost that angry bark the S65 offered at high RPM. The BMW F80 M3 had extensive engineering from the ground up when introduced but they overly engineered the soul and character out of the model. The BMW M3 CS was introduced in late 2017-18 with only 1200 units produced. BMW M retuned the entire chassis, revised the front suspension geometry, fitted a retuned steering rack, added wider and lighter forged wheels in a 19/20 stagger, reprogrammed the E differential and took a bunch of weight out of the car using Carbon Reinforced composites throughout.
