I built this centrifuge by clamping a plywood disc between a vacuum cleaner turbine and the turbine shaft end nut. The vacuum cleaner motor spins with amazing force, so I clamp the machine to the table when I use it.

This centrifuge can also separate oil from mayonnaise, which I think is pretty neat. If you build one, be careful! Motors this large are no joke!
