This week I drove a Jeep Compass Limited trim, and immediately realized it would make for an amazing first car! Obviously it would also be suitable as a 10th car and so on, but its true strength and value, both within the Jeep lineup and against similarly priced crossovers, is as a young drivers car. It does this will for two reasons: it features a decent combination of safety and tech features, and it boasts the same classic "go anywhere" Jeep attitude that draws in buyers time and time again.

Sure, this SUV is more of a smaller Grand Cherokee than a Wrangler, but equipped with the 4 Wheel Drive system that this car had, it still can hold its own under traction limited conditions. The Compass is also far from fast, that paired with a safety suite which includes front collision warning and blind spot detection makes the car a sensible choice for any driver looking to to commute weekly and explore on the weekends.

This car even had Adaptive Cruise Control, which can be very handy for stop and go traffic, but can also be a cost option on cars that start at 3x the price of the Compass.

This baby Jeep takes all the above, mixes in some Jeep DNA (including an assortment of Jeep Easter Eggs) and delivers a final product that would surely satisfy young and old drivers alike. The Tall Boy Test? Not so good, but watch the vid to find out more!
