Chef Catherine De Orio, who works with Conagra Brands, debunked 13 of the most common myths about cooking while providing tips on what to do instead. She explained how wearing goggles and chewing gum don't stop you from crying while cutting onions and how adding vinegar to water doesn't make hard-boiled eggs easier to peel. She also explained that keeping a pit in an avocado doesn't prevent the rest of the fruit from browning and how it's better to instead wrap the fruit in plastic wrap to limit oxidation.
