The 2020 Kavli Prize In Neuroscience is awarded to David Julius and Ardem Patapoutian for their transformative discovery of receptors for temperature and pressure.

2020 marks the twelfth anniversary of the prestigious Kavli Prize, which recognizes scientists for major advances in three research areas: astrophysics, nanoscience, and neuroscience—the big, the small, and the complex. The 2020 winners, sharing a cash award of $1 million in each field, were announced at the World Science Festival via livestream from the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters in Oslo.
