Dr. Alexandria Reynolds addresses one of the largest questions in the medical community: "How Much Sleep is Too Much Sleep?" Dr. Alexandria M. Reynolds is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at The University of Virginia’s College at Wise. Dr. Reynolds received her Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology from the University of South Carolina (USC) under the direction of Dr. Shawn D. Youngstedt and Dr. Jennifer M. C. Vendemia. She earned the USC Outstanding Dissertation Award in 2015 for her work on sleep extension in older adults. Her primary research interests include experimental psychology and sleep, specifically including human cognition, mood, and attention related to sleep duration. She is currently working on a multi-phase intervention project with her research students to improve sleep in college students. Dr. Reynolds’ favorite courses to teach include Psychology of Sleep, as well as Sleep and Dreaming.
