In the final episode of Undiagnosed, three families of special needs children look at how knowing the cause of their children’s conditions genetic affects their future.

After 17 years, the doctors have finally narrowed down a potential gene that might explain all of Dzakir and Dzakwan’s medical issues and intellectual disability. The family gives more blood samples for confirmation and to check if the condition might continue to run in the family.

Atira and Seana’s parents break the news to the girls’ grandparents that the girls’ condition is the result of both parents passing them faulty copies of a gene that is crucial for neurological development.

Jayden’s sisters share their plans of caring for an adult Jayden in future, and how they expect the course of their lives to be changed.
