Embracer has sold Gearbox Software for $460 Million Dollars and revealed that Borderlands 4, or at least the next entry into the Borderlands franchise is in development. In addition, several other notable sales happened this week including that Sega allowed Relic to become independent, and will unfortunately be cutting jobs. Finally, Jim Ryan is retiring today as he hits 40 years at PlayStation. The fact that Take Two buys Gearbox should not be very big gaming news today, but it is nice to know the future of any Borderlands 4 treatement will be in good hands. Gearbox sold to Take Two was likely the original buyer of interest before Embracer Group. But now that Embracer Group Sells Gearbox, the 2K partnership should be more solidified than ever. Huge Borderlands news or Borderlands 4 news for anyone watching.
