I was tasked by my uncle to see if I could repair his 50+ year old knife sheath. It looked like it just needed a stitch job, however due to the placement of the rivets I would need to remove them first to ensure the stitching would sit correctly. I warned my uncle that I might have difficulty removing the rivets and would then work towards recreating the sheath for him. Using tools to remove the rivets could damage the surface of the leather, which would still allow the sheath to be used, however wouldn't look great.

This channel is about sharing how I craft leather goods in a way that hopefully inspires others to pursue their passion. For me, the word "legacy" has grown to mean 'to pass the torch.' That can be sharing a passion, craft, or heirloom with the next generation. My hope is that by showing, for example, how I cut my leather goods or saddle stitch a wallet that you might be inspired to either take up the craft or inspired to pursue whatever your current passion happens to be. I hope you enjoy and learn something about the craft.
