Climate activist Greta Thunberg was among the thousands of anti-Israel protesters in Malmo, Sweden on Thursday.

The activists protested Israel's participation and qualification for the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 final.

The demonstration saw roughly 10,000-12,000 protesters at Stortorget Square before the activists planned to march through the city.

Thunberg spoke to the BBC about her presence at the demonstration and stated she had a “moral obligation to act”.

“If we are tens of thousands of people flooding the streets of Malmo when Eurovision is taking place, saying we will not accept this to continue, then it's a very strong signal - and it does make a difference,” she said.
