Ever wondered, "is Mercedes-Benz still making the SL-Class?" Well, you wouldn't be alone! If you asked me a couple years ago, I was certain that an SL, similar to this 2019 AMG SL63, would be the last of a dying breed. LONG LIVE THE KING!

But alas, I was wrong, and the SL lives on... What had died in its place? The S-Class coupe and convertible, which will be cease production once again after the 2021 model year.

Is the SL for everyone? Nope, it caters to a 'specific clientele' (wink wink) -- and I believe the forthcoming SL will embody that despite likely sharing a platform with the much more dynamically capable and bespoke AMG product: the AMG GT!

You want a raw performance car, you get the GT, you want a capable drop-top roadster... the SL!
