2:18-3:43 My Thoughts

Earlier today, Chrysler Brand CEO Chris Feuell unveiled Chryslers' newest concept, the Halcyon. The initial reaction on social media has not been very positive, and I have to say I side with disappointed Chrysler fans.

Chrysler is a storied nameplate with a long history. It is currently down to just one vehicle in its lineup, the Pacifica minivan, and its lower-cost Voyager and Grand Caravan offshoots. We have seen a few concepts from the brand over the past six years, starting with the Portal concept in 2017, followed by the production-ready-looking Airflow concept in 2022, and now the outlandish Halcyon concept in 2024.

Obviously, nowhere near being a production-ready vehicle, the Halcyon is almost a slap in the face to the brand's faithful followers. Chrysler fans aren't interested in seeing a tech demonstrator for technologies that are 10 to 20 years out; they want new products in showrooms, and they want it yesterday. Stellantis needs to cut the "trust me, bro" approach and give the people something tangible and appealing that they can walk onto a dealer lot and buy, and they need to do it soon.

Without that, the rumors of the brand's death will continue to swirl.
