In this video, like our other videos, we are showing you step-by-step how to tackle a full roof repair project on your own without having to pay a roofing company and saving you hundreds of dollars. For this roof repair, an expected total cost from a reputable roofing company can cost anywhere from $250.00- $500.00. Here we will be installing a 6 inch Roof Jack for a #KitchenFan exhaust fan (Range Hood Vent) in most cases the same rules can apply for a 4-8 inch roof jack.

Total Expected Material List and Estimated Cost:
1 (one) Roof Jack Vent 6”
1-2 (one to two) tubes of roof sealant
1 (one) Asphalt shingle (if possible)
2 1- 1/4in metal screws
1 (one) 5lb box of 1-¼” roofing nails

Tools Needed:
Pencil, Hammer, Utility Knife with Hook Blade, Tape Measure, Flat bar, Recipitator Saw, Circular Saw, Caulk Gun, Roofing Nails,drill with proper drill bit. And as always, Safety First - Eye Protection and Gloves #diyroofing

Step # 1- 0:16 Go into attic and mark center.
Step # 2- 0:39 Locate center mark on roof and cut out a full circle from center mark with a 3.5” radius, make sure you cut SHINGLES only.
Step # 3- 1:04 Using your flat bar pull roofing nails from your work area.
Step # 4- 2:03 Cut full shingle circle into a half circle.
Step # 5- 2:29 Begin plywood cut (full circle).
Step # 6- 3:49 Install Roof Jack with metal seam side facing ground.
Step # 7- 4:58 Nail down Roof Jack
Step # 8- 5:57 Re-install the nails you pulled out from Step #2
Step # 9- 6:53 Apply seal over new and old nail holes
