The pure front-wheel drive BMW 128ti has arrived and is not an M or M Performance car, but the answer to the booming hot hatch world and its key competitor, the VW Golf GTI Mk8.



Available for a drive for a week here in Germany, I had the chance to drive and use the new 128ti. Surprising as it may seem, I preferred it over its bigger brother the M135i, but it couldn’t really match with me as much as I had hoped.


Let’s dive into the details and explain my thoughts in connection to the new moniker with the Turismo Internazionale badge.
