The first Interurban line in the lower mainland was from Vancouver to New Westminster. The Central Park line operated from 1891 to 1954. The right of way from New Westminister as far as Broadway and Commercial was used for the Expo line which opened in 1986.

This is a colour film from about 1950 that follows the line from the New Westminister Depot through to the Carrall Street Depot downtown.

The film was shot by Kenneth Hodgson. He was a fan of railways and liked to make films of them. He worked for BC Electric Railway Company (later BC Transit) from 1944 to 1973. There are a further four more similar filsm from him.

8:50 Earl's Stop - the three storey building on the right still exists

10:20 Cedar Cottage Stop. This is roughly where the Croation Culture centre is located
