This footage (see also VIS 194.007.002 for sound footage) highlights Hartsfield’s five of his six total terms as mayor, from 1940 to 1961. in this film begins with silent black and white footage of downtown Atlanta; Hartsfield's 1940 re-election campaign; color footage of Hartsfield next to an unidentified building cornerstone from 1952; the "Gone with the Wind" film premiere; and Hartfield standing in a flooded area with a microphone. Following this footage is silent color footage of City of Atlanta officials speaking, including such as Sam Massell as well as others, possibly political leaders or officials from the Atlanta City Executive Committee or the Board of Aldermen. The film ends with footage of Hartsfield’s 1971 funeral procession, with Sam Massell and Ivan Allen Jr. in attendance, and his gravesite at Westview Cemetery.
