The Kommuna is a submarine salvage ship in service with the Russian Navy's Black Sea Fleet. A strange double-hulled catamaran design, she has the unique distinction of serving with the Russian Imperial Soviet, and now Russian Federation navy, becoming the oldest active navy ship in the world over a century after her launch.

What is the history of this incredible ship however? Why is it still in service and what is the explanation behind its distinct lack of rust?
