We’ve seen history made in the first half of 2020. We await even more in the second act. The current moment has an unmistakably new energy, yet unfortunately, the current moment has precedent: the struggle for justice and racial equality is as old as America itself.
Though it is a travesty that the youth still have to protest for the same cause as their grandparents, the intergenerationality of the current movement adds to its unique strength.

The entire history of protest led directly to the current moment.
That’s why CONVICTS collaborated with Chaplain Ingrid P. Lewis-Martin, Hercules E. Reid, Brianna Suggs and Hazel N. Dukes to produce ‘Vote for Change’. This short film celebrates the intergenerational strengths of protest, it examines the progress and pitfalls the movement has experienced and offers new hope for the future.

We wanted to release this film today as a reminder for New Yorkers to get out, do the right thing and VOTE TODAY in the primaries for reform candidates you believe in. Stay safe.
