April 26th through 28th was the AHRMA Northeast season opener, a combo national event, held at Irish Valley Mx Park in Paxinos Pa. We traveled down and camped over. Not only was the drive down an adventure but what an event!
Great people and beautiful weather made the weekend.
We had a new family member with us for some great puppy training, meet Tucker.
Carey's bike should be much more competative now, with all the important parts working. Special thanks Eric for clearancing the powervalve to cylinder skirt and welding up the powervalve governor arm.

The first moto start (8 in the class with 15 combined intermediates and experts ) wasn't great, but Carey stayed in it and finished 6 out of 8 in his class. Second moto He had a great start, held onto 4th behide 3 experts for a half a lap until he overshot a loose corner and went down..Ooops!! He got the bike fired back up but lost all good start benefits and was dead last. Eventually he came back to pass a few but could not gain back what he lost. Still thrilled at the first race and that the bike didn't blow up !
Overall, he placed 6th out of 8. Not bad considering moving up class and having a "new bike". Carey definitely needs more corner practice and can't wait to hit the next race, May 19, at Lamoka in Bradford NY
