Let’s take a look at Ubuntu 24.04 running on the Pi 5. There are a few issues installing Ubuntu 24.04 to USB or PCIe and I go over the possible workarounds for these issues. It’s great to see new versions of Ubuntu available for the Raspberry Pi as soon as a new Ubuntu release drops for other architectures.

To boot Ubuntu 24.04 from PCIe, make sure to add dtparam=pciex1 to config.txt after flashing the image to an NVMe drive.
