Young boy movies into the palatial mansion of the father he never knew. Ricky Schroeder (he now goes by 'Rick') gained fame over this series five seasons (four on NBC, plus one via syndication). Everybody learned lessons along the way, and Dad married Erin Gray. John Houseman played the grandfather. The theme 'Together' is by Rik Howard and Bob Wirth, and there were three variations. The first was performed as a Carpenters-type pop tune. When stereo came along a new version made it a little edgier. The third variations was a semi-rock version.
