35 million additional healthcare professionals need to be trained by 2030 to keep up with demand due to the rapidly aging population. Drawing from his personal experiences as an immigrant & Johns Hopkins medical student, Shiv Gaglani describes why he left medical school to build an online alternative called Osmosis.org with the former Khan Academy Medicine team. Shiv Gaglani is the co-founder & CEO of Osmosis.org, a health and medical education company that reaches more than a million health professionals as well as patients and their family members. The company produces animated videos on topics from aneurysms to Zika that have been viewed more than 50 million times since January 2016 in every country in the world. Gaglani has a MBA from Harvard University and is on leave from a MD from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
