Alvin’s start up is a manifestation of his belief that is a force for social good--a force with the power to recreate the world around us. Alvin will talk about his journey of creating his start-up company without connections or resources, and introduce the unique start-up mentality which made it possible.

The 2 essentials of start-up are skillsets and mentality. Skillsets are external, yet mentality is internal. We will never know everything before starting up, we are forced to learn and acquire new skillsets as we grow. Mentality refers to how you deal with new challenges, new business environment, new situations and new teammates.

Alvin would focus on sharing my start-up mentality and the story of how we went from just me and my partner with no product to sell almost 4 years ago to now – a team of 10 with customers all over Hong Kong.
Alvin is the Co-Founder and CEO of HandyRehab (Zunosaki Limited), a health tech startup devoted to bringing affordable robotics to the rehabilitation industry. Alvin is responsible for the commercialisation of technology, business development and fundraising of the venture. He has an extensive understanding of community healthcare needs through working with various NGOs, medical professionals, and community-based healthcare service providers.
Alvin grew up in Hong Kong and lived in London and South Carolina, USA. He loves playing sports and spending time in nature. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration (International Business and Chinese Enterprise) from The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Alvin believes that business is a force for social good. He advised various social startups in Hong Kong while serving as a pro-bono associate at a local charity focused on venture philanthropy and impact investment. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
