The US Grand Prix has always meant a lot to Formula 1. We can see this when the new owners bought it. The US is now the main market. Just look at the Drive to Survive series.
However, in 2000, no one could agree on where the races should be held. However, there was an ideal option - the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
It was a cult place that was loved by racing fans.
