Amazing sound of piston engine. Appropriately placed next to a shining de Havilland DH.98 Mosquito, this 1943 liquid cooled V12 Allison V-1710 engine (2000 hp) starts up and runs before a large crowd of aviation enthusiasts at Warbirds on Parade at Ardmore Airport New Zealand on 10 March 2024.

The Allison V-1710 powered most U.S. Army fighters in World War II, including Curtiss P-40 Warhawk, Lockheed P-38 Lightning, and early North American P-51 Mustang etc.
