The Tiguan was given an update back in autumn 2020 and now it is the turn of the long-wheelbase version: revised design, new control and assist systems, new premium features such as interactive IQ.LIGHT LED matrix headlights and touch panels to control the standard automatic air conditioner take the Tiguan Allspace to the next level. Currently, more than every second Tiguan (55 percent) that rolls off the production line worldwide has a long wheelbase. The XL version of the Tiguan Allspace can, upon request, be fitted to become an SUV with seven seats or boast 1,920 litres of storage space. Pre-sales start in the next few weeks. In Germany, it is available in the new specification packages Life, Elegance and R-Line.

-New specification matrix. Life, Elegance and R-Line replace previous equipment lines.

-Seven-seater or spacious sensation. Fully variable interior with third seat row (option) and plentiful space for passengers and luggage.

-Turbocharged diesel engines with twin dosing. High torque 2.0TDI engines (110 and 147 kW) with low nitrogen oxide emissions.

-1.5 TSI with Active Cylinder Management (ACT). Active Cylinder Management reduces consumption and emissions of the 110 kW TSI.

-The powerful 2.0 TSI. Turbocharged direct petrol injection engines with 140 and 180 kW.

-Automatic air conditioner fitted as standard. Touch panels and sliders provide new way of operating Air Care Climatronic.

Volkswagen has redesigned and optimized the equipment matrix for the Tiguan Allspace. In future there will be the versions "Life", "Elegance" and "R-Line" in Germany. The “Elegance” variant puts the Tiguan Allspace elegantly in the limelight with numerous chrome elements inside and outside as well as 19-inch light-alloy wheels. Sporty drivers choose the "R-Line" version. A multifunction sports steering wheel in leather with touch controls and the “R-Line” logo, inlays in “Carbon Gray”, “Digital Cockpit Pro” and 19 or 20-inch wheels are among the distinctive features. For comfort, front seats in the ergoActive version with an electrically adjustable 4-way lumbar support and massage function can also be ordered.

All air conditioning, heating and ventilation functions of the standard three-zone automatic air conditioning are controlled via a new digitized module in the center console. Touch surfaces and sliders take on the function of knobs and buttons. The driver can receive information on request via the full-color head-up display. This projects relevant information such as speed, route information and warning messages into the driver's field of vision. The tried and tested optional trailer maneuvering assistant "Trailer Assist" supports maneuvering with a trailer. The trailer load with 4MOTION all-wheel drive is up to 2.5 tons.
