Majors’ depiction of Kang was set to be the focal point of the MCU’s next phase. He reprised the role in both Ant-Man: Quantuamania and Loki. Majors was also scheduled to appear in the upcoming Avengers: Kang Dynasty. However, the film studio has since wiped Avengers: Kang Dynasty and replaced it with Avengers 5. The Hollywood Reporter said at the time that the company plans “to move forward with the film” but in a different direction.

Additionally, Searchlight Pictures dropped the disgraced thespian and his upcoming film, Magazine Dreams. The Hollywood Reporter reported that Searchlight Pictures told Majors and his team that they wouldn’t proceed with the project. The California native and the filmmakers are now shopping the movie to potential buyers.

Amid Major’s fall from grace, rumors of potential replacements began swirling on the internet. Names like John David Washington and Colman Domingo are only a few that have been mentioned. Fans even imagined the role being taken on by entertainers like Trevante Rhodes, Damson Idris, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, and more.
