Hundreds of thousands of women who’ve had cosmetic implants insist that a range of symptoms, from joint pain to horrendous allergic reactions, are connected to their silicone implants. They say it's the mysterious phenomenon of breast implant illness (BII).

Many are now reversing the surgery and having them out - and report almost instant relief from the symptoms. But the NHS does not recognise breast implant illness and surgeons are sure other psychological factors are at play. Other countries, however, are recognising and officially warning about BII, and leading experts claim the UK is falling dangerously behind.
