Learn this easy carbonara recipe in the latest episode of HalalTrip Cooks! This time-efficient recipe would have you making your carbonara pasta from scratch! Now you can satisfy your creamy pasta craving without having to search for Halal carbonara sauce in your grocery stores, especially if they have been wiped off the shelves before you could get your hands on them.

Ingredients:
Shredded parmesan
Egg
Turkey bacon (or any other meat you prefer)
Pasta
Olive oil

Directions:
1) Boil pasta until al-dente (about 9-12 minutes).
While pasta is boiling, prepare the other ingredients:
2) Add one egg into a bowl followed by 3 handfuls of shredded parmesan cheese (side note: if you choose to make bigger portions, just follow the ratio of 1 egg to 3 handfuls).
3) Whisk the egg and parmesan together and set it aside.
4) Next, slice your turkey bacon into bite size pieces. You can add as little or as much bacon as you want into your pasta.
5) Add olive oil into a pan and let the pan heat up.
6) When the pan is hot, add your bacon pieces and stir-fry until they turn golden brown.
7) Once the pasta is done boiling, add all the pasta into the same pan you fried your bacon pieces. Add half a cup of pasta water into the pan as well.
8) Mix the bacon pieces and pasta well.
9) Once the pasta and bacon pieces are well-combined, take it off the heat and let it cool for 30 seconds to one minute.
10) Once the bacon and pasta mixture is cooled, add your egg and cheese mixture in and start mixing well.
11) Add salt and pepper to your liking. You can also add parsley or whatever herbs you prefer.
12) Plate it and you’re done! Serve the delicious carbonara pasta while hot for best results :)
