CUSTOM BUILT SIM RIG WITH HOMEMADE EBRAKE

DESCRIPTION

This is a video of my sim build progress. First will be a video clip of the finished rig. The second will be a photo progression clip of the build from start to finish. Lastly, there will be 2 video clips of the homemade ebrake test. One will be testing in the main menu to see if it works by using it to back out of menu options. The 2nd clip is driving an STI at Dirt Fish Rally School.

SPECS

▪︎The rig didn't have to look a specific way in terms of "appeal." Rather, it was started with one thing that had to happen for sure. It had to be the same spatial specs as my IRL STI. The pedals are spaced apart from each other, from the seat, from the floor, from the steering wheel, and lined up/centered with the wheel and seat properly. The seat is done in the same fashion, with the added bonus of making sure the front of the seat and rear of seat are at proper height from floor, angle is correct, back rest is right and is spaced from pedals and wheen properly....with the exception of it being almost 3/4" back farther from the steering wheel. That is only bc the Logitech wheel is smaller, so it doesn't reach quite as far as I'd like....but it still feels great! The ebrake sits right beside the seat like the STEE does, and eventually, the 6 speed shifter will get placed where it should be in a real STEE.

I think it turned out really well! Way better than I envisioned it being when I started building it...especially know how limited I was with materials. The ebrake was the toughest part to come up with. Thought I was going to have to resort to using a hammer for the ebrake....thank goodness I'm resourceful!!!!

I hope you enjoy watching my progress!! 🤙
