Leipzig/Halle Airport went into operation back in 1927, and 81 years later DHL opened a hub here. With 1.4 million tons of air freight in 2020, Leipzig/Halle Airport is Germany's second-largest cargo airport. At the DHL hub, around 6,000 employees ensure that 150,000 shipments reach their destinations every hour.
