Turn on the Closed Captions (CC) for a transcription of the voiceovers! ~~~ I started this vid right when this song was becoming a huge hit and catapulting Olivia Rodrigo's music career, February 2021 I was very inspired. I had vidded Matt/Julie in a super happy vid to Taylor Swift's "Fearless" in August & September 2020, just 7 or so months before her first Taylor's version album came out.
   • Friday Night Lights: Matt & Julie - [...   (my username was still luvtheheaven5 at the time, I'd switched away from luvtheheaven to VioletEmerald in January 2021) and in that one I had not vidded pretty much ANY of their heartbreak or sad scenes, although it also was very Julie-centric of a POV (point of view/perspective).

But then in this video I tried to use almost entirely different scenes (4 or 5 moments may overlap) and just really capture the hurt that was SO relatable to me in this song. The song had instantly made me think of my breakups in 2016 and 2017 with the guy I vidded about in my "Shout" fanvideo:    • Multi-Couples/Multi-Friendships - "Sh...   and when Matt ghosts Julie in season 4 it's one of the breakups I can relate to the most, and I was excited that I could find a way to match this song so exactly. My breakup in my real life was a decade or so later than getting my Driver's License but this show takes place while Julie is going through literally getting her Driver's License, so... pretty much every lyric, there's a way to make it work.

With Taylor Swift's new album out, an album with a couple songs ("All You Had To Do Was Stay" and "I Wish You Would") that I listened to back in 2017 & 2018 when I was processing being ghosted by my partner, I started to get inspired to maybe vid a ghosting-themed fanvideo. And I do think I will. I'm inspired by "Say Don't Go" and Matt/Julie will have to be one of the ships. So that was another reason Matt/Julie were on my mind and I was re-inspired to go back to this old vid of mine and finally finish and post it.

In the show Matt & Julie end up together but I deliberately chose to not vid the part of the show where they start to rekindle things and work towards their happy ending. I needed to focus on them like something final and over in order to properly match the song.

I really hope you all like it! Anyone who's a big fan of the song, of my vidding generally, or especially of this old show. I'm glad I jumped back into it nearly 3 years later and was able to edit the final minute of the video after all this time! I had already set myself up to be able to vid the end back in 2021, I had clipped so many of these scenes preemptively etc. It still somehow took me 6 more hours to vid just the final min of the video though and help it be what I wanted it to be. Vidding takes me a LONG time lol.

I don't really have time to vid like this these days. Gotta find ways to vid faster and not sacrifice my sleep or exercise classes because I'm doing it, as keeps happening... but at least the vid is complete!
