The knight and bishop checkmate is one of the more advanced endgame checkmates. The queen and king checkmates are relatively straightforward, and even the two bishop checkmate isn't too bad. However, the knight and bishop checkmate requires a little bit of memorization as well as understanding the underlying techniques.
