Today I am going to be comparing the Apple Watch SE vs the Apple Watch Series 7. While the Series 7 is newer and of course has more features, compared to the Apple Watch SE, it also comes in at a significantly higher price. So in this video will be comparing the two from a value perspective. In other words, how much apple watch do you get per dollar. To find out, I will compare the 4 areas that I believe matter most in a smartwatch: Display, Battery, Performance, Features. To help you decide which model is right for you! Apple Watch SE, Retina display, 40mm and 44mm. Apple Watch Series 7, Always-on Retina display, 41mm and 45mm. Both OLED displays are bright enough to see in all lighting conditions. Both are clear, high resolution and detailed. Comparing the two, watch case is same size. But Series 7 has 20% more screen space. Makes a noticeable difference in everything that you do. Content is more readable. Thinner bezels on S7 more modern + nice tapering effect. The SE display is great but display is one of the key areas where the S7 is a step up in every way. Crucially, the S7 has always on display. I appreciate this more than I thought I would. Functional, check time for subtly without turning wrist. Also looks good to have watch face on screen at all times. This is a compelling reason to go for the Series 7 over the SE. Battery, SE and Series 7 18 hours, both last all day, however only Series 7 has fast charger. But to give you an idea, notifications, background app refresh, Siri and display settings all play a big role in battery performance. SE keeps up well, scrolling through text and apps, opening and closing menus. Can stutter only occasionally when switching between apps. Series 7 is noticeably faster compared to the SE. Basically no stutter or lag in everything that you do. Apps stay open long and launch quickly. Also consider, the newer processor of the S7 will receive software updates for 4-5 more years, will last 1-2 years longer than the SE. Features. The SE has: Notifications, Track workouts, Heart rate measurements, Fall detection, Maps, Siri. The Series 7 takes the above and adds: Larger always-on display, ECG readings, Blood oxygen sensor. During normal day to day, I do not use my S7 very differently from my SE. That said, for me the biggest difference lies in the display. The increase in size and thinner bezels on the Series 7 are great to have but it really in the always-on display that makes the biggest difference. Seeing you watch face at all times, sounds simple but is something I really miss on the SE. Which Apple Watch presents the best value option? It, if you are new to the Apple Watch, the Apple Watch SE is a great place to start, packs all of the essential apple watch features and some more in a good looking design that will last for the next 2-3 years all for a compelling price. On the other hand the S7 truly has it all. If you are already an Apple Watch user, series 3 or 4, or if you want the latest and greatest, you can be assured that for the extra money the Series 7 does offer some really great additional features from health to the always on display.
