FinTech Review: with Jemima Kelly (FT Alphaville), Anders la Cour (Banking Circle) and David GW Birch. (With support from Banking Circle)

Why you should watch: Another busy month... The BofE joins the CBDC race - but what kind of CBDC does it envisage (and whose business might that threaten)? Big changes afoot in the UK in terms of official involvement in the FinTech sector - notably the CMA's blocking of the Crowdcube/Seedrs merger and the intervention in the ARM/Nvidia deal: good thing? or a big step back to the 1960s? And what lessons from the market reaction to the Darktrace float, post Deliveroo? There's also jollity about Dogecoin, and two cheers for the EU's AI framework.

Moderators: Andrew Hilton (Director, CSFI) & Leighton Hughes (FinTech Lead, CSFI)

Panellists:

Jemima Kelly is a reporter for FT Alphaville and a columnist for the FT itself.

Anders la Cour is the CEO of Banking Circle, a 'next gen' provider of financial services infrastructure to banks and other financial services companies across Europe. Educated as a lawyer in Denmark, he was previously CEO of Saxo Payments, which was relaunched as Banking Circle in 2016.

Dave Birch is an 'author, adviser and commentator on digital financial services', whose most recent book is 'The Currency Cold War'. He is also a global ambassador for Consult Hyperion, of which he was a co-founder, and a member of the CSFI's Governing Council.
