Are these the best used electric vehicles for around £20,000 each in the UK? In this video I look at our own electric vehicles myself & partner drives and why I think these are probably the best used electric vehicles for around £20k each. We have a 2020 Hyundai Ioniq Electric Premium SE 38kWh, which is now 2.5 years old and has done 20,000 miles and a 2014 Tesla Model S 85kWh RWD, which is now 8.5 years old and has done 118,000 miles.
Two very different EVs, but they both do around 200-220 miles range and are around the same price now. The Ioniq is super efficient and achieves this with a battery pack less than half the size of the Tesla pack. The Tesla is big, fast and thirsty on the electrons and does half the mileage per kWh, but is great fun and is always the car we go out together in. These early single motor Model S vehicles aren't as efficient as the newer Tesla's with dual motors.
