A few years ago, Jay realised she was transgender and, with that, realised that transgender people are misunderstood on many levels. In her talk she sets out to explain what it feels like to be transgender, so that people can understand it better and become more understanding and accepting. She said “If you love transgender people, listen to my talk. If you hate transgender people, also listen to my talk."

Jay is an 18-year-old school student, studying media, drama and computer science and she shares her ideas with a dramatic flourish and handles this difficult, sometimes perceived as controversial topic, with humour and sensitivity.
