Apple's next special event is likely taking place on October 13...although I think the 12th is also a possibility. The completely redesigned iPhone 12 will headline the event with new features such as 5G, an A14 processor, and even a LiDAR sensor on the higher-end models. AirTags and AirPods Studio are also likely at the October event, as well.
