Making a game with Swift Playgrounds has been a fantastic learning experience. Not only does it give me an early look at what developing a game on an iPad might someday look like (please Apple keep building this out), but being confined to the box of Swift Playgrounds forced me to think about the game development process differently.

While I wasn't able to get everything I wanted to into this game (see last week's video) I was able to complete the project and push it to the AppStore all using my iPad. While I think Apple can make this process even easier with some refinement, it's a great start.

Shapes&Numbers as a whole are still rough around the edges. It's a proof of concept and not a fully fleshed-out game. I plan to bring this project into a full Xcode environment and see if I can add some more refinement to the game over the next few weeks. However, there's a chance that as soon as I try this everything just falls apart.

I hope you've enjoyed this series and if you want to check out Shapes&Numbers you can download it on the AppStore now it will be live and ready to play on June 6th, 2022.
