ORIGINAL POST
A few weeks ago, I was a defendant in a Maryland district court facing two criminal charges from an incident that happened last June. It started when Officers Christopher Brown and Jason Halko from the Montgomery County Police Department stopped me on my bicycle.

When the stop was over, they left me with two criminal citations. One was for failure to stop at a stop sign. The other was for failure to display a county registration sticker on my bicycle. But as this video shows, the real reason I got charged was for asserting my constitutional rights. With my criminal case resolved, I’m sharing my story to show how police misuse dumb laws to punish people who assert their rights or upset them.

This demo video was produced and narrated by Steve Silverman. Music track provided by Scott Morgan. The video was edited on iMovie.
