This is a video of my new Mercedes GLS 63 AMG 2021 vs my GLS 63 AMG 2019 Acceleration, Start & Rev Off.

The Mercedes GLS63AMG is a staple car on my fleet, a true workhorse. I drive them a lot, around 30k miles per 6 months and then I change them for a new one. This new 2021 GLS is my 16th GLS that I have bought!

The new Mercedes GLS 63 AMG 2021 comes with a turbocharged 4-litre V8 Petrol engine, with a 48-watt mild hybrid system. This gives an extra boost in performance and better efficiency. The combined bhp is 625, (out of which 22bhp comes from the electric motor,) which is 48bhp more than the previous Mercedes GLS 63 AMG 2019, which has a 5.5 litre twin-turbo V8.
The new 2021 Mercedes GLS63AMG does 0-62mph in 4.2 seconds, has a limited top speed of 155mph which you can unlock to 174mph, by taking the AMG driver’s package as an option.

As you know I’m a huge Mercedes GLS 63 AMG fan, the new 2021 GLS63AMG is a huge step up in technology and luxury to the previous model. The new V8 engine is very refined and makes a great sound, the car feels much faster too.

Overall I prefer the new Mercedes GLS 63 AMG 2021, however I would say that I loved the 5.4-litre V8 engine on the previous models but moving forward, us petrol heads, are going to have to get used to smaller engine as we are move towards electrification in the automotive industry.
