From fire and blood comes a movie full of redemption and hope. Fury Road is an action film fuelled with a mastery of craft and storytelling, and carrying warnings of a dangerous future if we don't change course today.

'Digging Deeper' is a series taking a serious look (for us) at films, themes, characters, and various aspects of filmmaking, writing, directing, and more.

From deliberately direct camera choices and editing technique, to meshing together theme with plotting, I take a long look at what Mad Max: Fury Road is all about, how it relates to the other films in the series and some of the many powerful and resonant themes and messages it holds about individuals and society.

Plus it also happens to have that rather amazing little parallel to a cinematic classic you might have caught in the bite-sized version.
