I upgraded the spring on the rear shock of my Honda CRF250L dual sport. This is a step by step video of how I did it from start to finish including every step. I discovered a new way to do the most difficult step and if you're here for that you can skip directly to it at time stamp 03:40. The stock spring rate is 9.5 kg/mm. I'm 6'4" and weigh 280 pounds and the recommended spring rate for me is 14 kg/mm. I got the spring online at CRF's Only. I tried to swap out the spring myself using the MacPherson strut tool and i couldn't get at the nut need to free up the washer. I had quite a struggle finding a mechanic/shop that would help me get the old spring off and the new spring on. In the end, I found Brent at ProTune Suspension in Wellston, Ohio and he helped me out. If you're doing it yourself, I noticed some of the tools Brent used are available online but after seeing him do it, I realized his knowledge, skills and experience made all the difference.
