Today, David is going to teach you the BEST way to share your Contact Card in order to protect your privacy. This method requires a little custom configuring (hence, this tutorial), but ultimately this will allow you to maintain total control over what information is visible when sharing your contact card. When everything is set up and read, you can send your contact info with only a few keystrokes. You can even create multiple cards for different purposes (i.e. business, personal, one night stand, etc).

This video offers a solution to allow users to create multiple contact cards, which have been curated for different purposes. Anytime you want to summon one of these cards, you can simply type a few keystrokes (your own custom shortcut) and the file will instantly appear. Because this method utilizes Keyboard Replacement, those settings WILL sync via iCloud. That means you only have to set this up once, and you're good to go!

Yes, this does take a little bit of setup, but it's worth it when it's up and running.

Written Directions
Step 1. Create a brand new contact card (do NOT use your old one)
Step 2. Determine the audience for the card (i.e. business, friends, Gridnr hookup)
Step 3. Fill in the Contact Card and drag it into iCloud Drive (suggestion: create a new folder called "Contact Cards")
Step 4. Use the share feature in iCloud to copy the link to the VCF file.
Step 5. Go into Text Replacement, paste the URL into "With" and in "Replace" you can create your shortcut.
Step 6. Anytime you want to summon your contact card, type your shortcut, and it will replace it to the link to your Contact Card.

Part of the reason why I made this video is because I discovered a bug in the Apple/iOS Contact app that can expose any information you have in the "notes" section of YOUR OWN CARD when shared with others (this information has been reported to @Apple)
