RIBBIT is a bizarre, intricate & endearing Deltarune mod created by @BeholdMaxine .
It's half shitpost inspired by the works of Toby Fox, half psychological horror inspired by Manos: The Hands of Fate (an infamously bad B movie.) I played it about a year ago but since then I decided to record a playthough of the new, overhauled version.
It's got all the references to cult classic games you want (including a few direct Chrono Trigger shoutouts, which makes sense given frogs and all.)
It's... Honestly my favorite fangame of anything I've personally played. And that is a bit of a bold statement.
But I can't even think of another fangame that I have played which just... I dunno. Feels like me, at something I'd write at a certain point in my life. 'Cept ironically, I'm not good at writing fan-things. My own projects like videos & games & stuff always start as fan-things but then become original-things.
Point is, RIBBIT's writing & style are just.. Incredibly resonant with my personal creative niche. You don't get much exposure to that on this channel but can probably see that side more on my @Amygdalum channel. Although my most high quality work (that being, work on fully remaking my inarguably sloppy first game & its soundtrack) is not shown there yet.

Still, RIBBIT is one of the rare things (along with Yume Nikki and OFF) which to me have felt like "If I made a game, it'd probably feel like this. This feels like me".
Speaking of, the music used in this mod is great - it's got plenty of stuff I already listen to (fitting since people have described my own music as "Aphex Twin & evil Toby Fox ambience") and introduced me to some great new stuff, in particular highlighting a great load of tunes from jazz to EDM to some all around banger VGM. Thus, I highly recommend everyone play this mod with Definitive OST turned on. The music choices will rock your world. The psychological horror is inspiring to my own works, and it shouts out games & stuff I genuinely like a lot. And overall it's a damn good time.
Another random tidbit - There is a scene in the game with a tabby cat and a tuxedo cat.. And I have a tabby cat & a tuxedo cat. The ones in the game are different genders than mine but yknow it's still a weirdly specific coincidence for a fangame that already resonates with me a lot!
