My first commute was a great experience. It was my first time getting to work NOT in a car and I truly enjoyed it. I went about 10 miles to work and 14 miles getting back for a commute ride of 24 miles. I also did about 3 miles during lunch, so my total ride was about 27 miles.

One of the main things that I learned was that since my commute is a little long, I definitely need to invest in a pannier bag instead of wearing a heavy backpack with all my stuff.
