Speaking to CBR, Wolfwalkers writer-directors Tomm Moore and Ross Stewart broke down their approach to the film. The explained how they set out to capture the "damp, soggy" feel of an Irish forest, as well as what hand-drawn animation had to offer the movie that computer-generated images didn't. They discussed how colonialism was the real villain, in that it separated the protagonists from nature, and why the lead characters had to be two young girls. They also teased their favorite montage from the film, what they hope fans take away from it and more.
