If you say the word "Corvette" people will picture a Sting Ray. And if they picture a Sting Ray they will pick a 1963. The split-window Corvette is the Corvette and it's also why Rick Patel has to tell people all the time that his '63 Sting Ray is "only" a convertible. The 1963 Corvette would have been a landmark car even without it's one-year-only styling gimmick penned by legendary stylist Bill Mitchell. The 1963 Corvette is a "C2" to Corvette nerds and it brought the Corvette into the world of independent rear suspension.
