Blockchains are complex systems deployed over the Internet, requiring much data to be exchanged among individual peers. Also, before deploying your system to the mainnet, developers deploy the versions in their local environments to assess blockchain properties such as TPS, required hardware resources, connection, and others. Such evaluations determine how your system scales with additional resources and more peers in the network. Regular updates might change these properties, requiring a robust evaluation methodology. Therefore, we introduce a possible solution for L1, L2, and others, e.g., TEE, deployments, to collect insights about the system under the test and possibly compare different systems. We call our approach METHODA and it should help blockchain core developers to assess their blockchain scalability and other properties.
