In this episode:
It’s Chicago Blues Festival Weekend 2018! Saturday night this year’s fest pays tribute to 91-year old saxophonist Gene Barge. Chicago producer and music editor extraordinaire Lou Hinkhouse did his own five part tribute to Barge, one of the great musicians, arrangers and songwriters of all time. Barge talked about his career at Chicago’s Chess Records with Bob Sirott in the very studio he worked in during the 1960s. Gene has toured and played with Fats Domino, Ray Charles, even the Rolling Stones. He also appeared in movies with Harrison Ford, Gene Hackman and Chuck Norris. Hit the links and hear some hits from “Sweet Daddy G!”
We’re Bob Sirott and Marianne Murciano.
